Yeah, I figured that much.

I was just making sure.

Eat what?

Not a person, if that’s what you’re thinking.

Cool. That is actually what I was thinking.

Stability is Good || Matbekah

bekahtheoriginal:

Rebekah looked around, trying to keep a low profile as she walked through downtown. Most people knew who she was by now, but the attention wasn’t something she craved at the moment. She just wanted somewhere quiet to sit and someone normal to talk to. When the opportunity arose to see Matt at the Grill, she jumped at the chance. He was always kind to her and it seemed like a good a time as ever to make more friends if she was going to stick around for some time. She smiled at an old couple as she passed them, close to the bar now. She took a deep breath when she got to the door and fixed her hair a little in the reflection of the glass before clutching onto the strap of her bag and walked in. It was busy, but not too bad. She pointed to a boot in the corner, asking to sit there and the hostess walked her over. She was handed a menu and frowned. She wasn’t very hungry, Elijah made sure the basement was well-stocked with blood bags, so she was okay in that area. Maybe just a drink would do. She looked up and saw Matt at the bar and smiled brightly before leaving the booth and making her way over, “Hello, there.” She said softly as she sat down on a stool. “You look worn out…” She frowned and put her chin in her hand. “Maybe you need a drink more than I do.”

At this point, Matt was indifferent to any and all vampire in Mystic Falls. Any prejudice he once held had been abolished by his group of strange collection of friends. Without really trying they had shown him what it meant to be a good person and it wasn’t anything to do with being human. If he could show kindness to Katherine and the Salvatore’s then surely he could show it to Rebekah Mikaelson. He didn’t see how she was any different. Sure, she was Klaus’ sister but it wouldn’t be fair to judge her because of that. She was her own person. And honestly, she didn’t seem all that bad. He wouldn’t think twice about being her friend if she wasn’t an Original. It crossed his mind that refusing her wasn’t a good idea but that wasn’t why he had accepted her invitation. It had been a long day and he was happy to be asked. It had been a while since he had grabbed a drink with a friend and although they weren’t, strictly speaking, friends yet – he needed to get out more. It certainly beat sitting at home eating take out and watching reality TV. He was chatting to one of the other waiters when she arrived. She didn’t see him and for some reason he decided to keep quiet. It didn’t take her long to suss him out though.  “Hey,” he replied with enthusiasm as he watched her approach. “That’s what happens when you work for a living,” he teased. He busied himself with some empty glasses before turning to face her, leaning across the counter. “I don’t know,” he pursed his lips together. He couldn’t deny that he’d had a rough couple of months but being an Original couldn’t be easy either. “Maybe.”

It’s nice to win at least one every once in a while though, right?

I wouldn’t know.

Yes, that’s very true. My day? Pretty shitty, actually.

You can’t win them all.
